Pet-friendly Brisbane, Australia
Sleepypod Australia Shares Some Favorite Pet-friendly Destinations in Brisbane
Brisbane is fast transforming from a city surrounded by a sprawling suburban landscape to an urban inner-city hub of activity and along with it has sprung up a collection of pet-friendly, street-side cafes and restaurants that welcome all four-legged friends and their latte drinking parents. Here is a list of our favourite finds but the list is constantly expanding, so watch for updates!
Reef Point Cafe Reef Point EsplanadeScarborough phone: 07 3045 0604
Dog owners agree the Reef Point Café in Scarborough is a great place to take your pooch for friendly service and great tasting food. Located on the waterfront, it’s a perfect spot to walk your dog along the water before heading to the café to enjoy one of their famed all-day breakfasts with a quality Merlo coffee or pot of tea. If you’re after a lighter snack, choose from an array of freshly made cakes, scones, muffins, and biscuits.
Brown Dog Cafe 54 Logan RdWoolloongabba phone: 07 3891 7355
Brown Dog Cafe in Woolloongabba is friendly place where you and your dog can dine together. Meals are affordable, tasty and healthy plus there’s a great selection of quality sit-down and take-away coffee. Weekends draw quite a crowd so if you’re thinking of trying a Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast (recommended) with your dog in tow, we suggest arriving early as there is only a small selection of outside tables available. While Brown Dog café is situated in the back-streets of Woolloongabba four-legged friends are welcomed with a water bowl and plenty of shade.
OuterSpace Espresso 116 Brookes Street Fortitude Valley phone: 421 930 857
If you are looking for tasty treats, amazing juices, and excellent coffee in a quiet but chic part of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley then look no further than OuterSpace Espresso! OuterSpace Espresso has an amazing outdoor area that has ample shade for our four legged friends, and water bowls aplenty. The glorious New Farm Powerhouse Park is a frisbee throw away (well maybe two frisbees)! This quiet off-leash park has a stunning riverfront location with big trees and good amenities.
Melange 1 Parkland BoulevardRoma Street Parklands phone: 07 3229 7777
Located within Roma Street Parklands, Melange is a firm favourite for inner city pet owners. Situated in the Brisbane CBD this parkland has an array of walking paths and doggy ball dispenses set-up though the park. The park café Melange is pet-friendly with dog-bowls permanently set up outside.
Espresso Garage at Little Stanley Street Southbank 176 Grey Street Southbank phone: 07 3846 6162
Espresso Garage at Little Stanley Street Southbank. This hole-in-the-wall cafe is a haven for cyclists, dog walkers, and coffee lovers. The contemporary café is serviced by a generous courtyard filled with seats (and the all-important water bowl for Fido) both in the sun and the shade which welcome those looking for a slow start to their day. Located opposite Brisbane’s sprawling South Bank Parklands this is a dog-walking mecca.
